Smelly Farangs on Skytrain

When coming home from work I often have to take the Bangkok Skytrain system and frequently have to go past a station called Nana. Nana station is on upper Sukhumvit road and many people live around there, work around there and go to meet their friends. However, it also has one of the cities most popular farang hangout areas known as Nana Plaza. In the evenings when everyone is leaving work, the skytrain gets pretty busy but is made worse by the fact that you get a bunch of smelly, fat drunk farangs piling onto the train just so they can get to Nana.

They do this because it means they don’t have to walk much to get from their bedroom to their next sexual encounter with a girl from a farm.  Unfortunately even this miniscule amount of exercise proves too much for most of them and they begin to leak all over the skytrain. This would be OK if we had some sort of holding pen at the far end, preferably near the driver, where you could sit the farangs until Nana station and then the driver can just press a button and have them ejected, via projectile, directly into the plaza. But unfortunately as it is, you have to rub up against them, and most insist on holding the higher rail above my head so I am forced to have line of sight with multiple wet armpits which emit an odour not entirely unlike a nasty huamark klong.

Next time you are on the skytrain at early evening, make a note of counting how many ugly farangs are waiting for Nana station. You don’t need to listen for the announcement of your station because basically the closer you get to Nana, the more they perspire. Then they waddle off down the stairs, get a taxi up the road and my farming family sisters hopefully gouge their pockets for all they are worth.

  1. Skeptic Says:

You know, reading over the posts on this blog, I don’t believe its author is Thai. The syntax is wrong, the word choice suspect, and, perhaps most telling, there isn’t anything that a fairly well-informed foreigner wouldn’t know. This is, IMHO, most probably penned by a farang English teacher.

  2. Fon Says:

Well you must be right since all us Thais are so stupid and ill educated.

  3. Clifford Sloane Says:

Khun Fon, please read Mister Skeptic’s post a bit more carefully.

Of all the posts, this one caught my eye too. It used a number of very unusual phrases. the one I would point to is this:

I teach English at a well-known university here. I frequently encounter instances of student plagiarism. When we find a phrase like this, the red flags go up. More often than not, when I put such a phrase in a Google search engine, the original source comes up.

So let’s say, to be fair, that a native speaker helped a Thai writer edit this into smoother prose.
No harm in that, is there?

“and have them ejected, via projectile, directly into the plaza. “

  5. Fon Says:

I suppose its possible Clifford- your options are, a complicated setup where I am helped and so on, involving more people, or a more simple option- I am simply a well read person. I could write my blog in shakespeare English if I wanted to.

  6. Eman Says:

if you don’t want all those smelly farangs getting in your way around Nana, why don’t you ask all the whores to sell their wares elsewhere? Ask them nicely to work near a different BTS stop, ask them to move on to a beach resort somewhere, ask them to work in the brothels near their home towns or tell them to go back to their rice farms and wait a few months for rain and nature to help the rice grow so these working girls can harvest the rice and then send it back to your favorite restaurant in Bangkok. But don’t be too surprised if she rejects your noble suggestions.

  7. Fon Says:

Supply and demand, Eman. You can learn about that in your local library.

  8. Al Says:

Come on its not just some farangs that humm somewhat is it.
Be honest now either you stink or dont?,
